CHULS-IALS WORKSHOP ON ACADEMIC CAREER DEVELOPMENT: The View from Senior Management

This is the first of a series of three workshops aimed at academics in law schools at all career stages. We will explore a range of issues related to academic career development, including the various career development tracks (teaching, research, scholarship, enterprise); promotion processes and the challenges for the discipline of law; managing expectations in relation to career progression; role modelling; management succession planning; career development and wellbeing; the law school as a business; models of law school leadership. In this workshop, we feature University senior managers from the discipline of law, speaking on promotions, expectations of law applicants, routes to progression, and helpful tips for academics in law.
