GCHQ, “Five Eyes” and Modern Signals Intelligence

In the first of a series of online seminars jointly sponsored by the ICwS and the Toronto branch of the Royal Commonwealth Society, Professor John Ferris, author of the authorised history of GCHQ, Britain's signals intelligence agency, will talk about its origins and growth and about the significance of Commonwealth liaison in the collection and sharing of this material through the 'Five Eyes' alliance (USA, the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand) which was formalised in the wake of World War II.
