RESHAPED (Researchers in the Humanities and Arts’ Platform for Enhancement and Development) provides free and accessible training resources designed to support the lifelong learning needs of humanities researchers across the UK and beyond. The peer-reviewed resources are written and curated by experts from the School and elsewhere, and are aimed at equipping researchers with the crucial interdisciplinary knowledge and skills needed in a rapidly changing research landscape.

You can watch a teaser video explaining the RESHAPED project via this link: https://universityoflondon.cloud.panopto.eu/Panopto/Pages/Viewer.aspx?id=f2b47bcf-3ac5-4893-9d57-b2cf00a2024c

Alongside a range of individual online courses and toolkits, RESHAPED also includes thematic hubs that draw together materials from across the platform, as well as suggested learning journeys, links to related training events and signposts to external resources that can further develop researchers’ knowledge and skills.

The platform will empower humanities researchers to build their own learning experiences, make connections across and beyond their subject specialisms, and diversify their skillset as they progress through their research careers.

Dr Naomi Wells, Senior Lecturer in Languages and Digital Humanities at the School of Advanced Study said:

It is a crucial time for humanities researchers at all career stages to adapt both how and what we research in order to demonstrate the vital contribution of the humanities. Through the provision of free and expert-led training resources, RESHAPED will bring together the collective expertise of the humanities community to support the School of Advanced Study’s national mission to equip researchers with the knowledge and skills needed to respond to the major research challenges and opportunities facing us.

Current subject areas on the platform include Public Engagement, Digital Humanities, Interview Research Methods and Open Access Publishing, with a range of new content currently in development to be released soon. The development team welcome suggestions for new content from the humanities research community.

Simon Parr, a School of Advanced Study Learning Technologist and a developer of the new site said:

It has been a privilege to be part of the development of RESHAPED. It's exciting to see a platform come to life that supports and empowers the growth of Humanities researchers' skills and knowledge across the UK and beyond. Contributing to the emergence of a dedicated space that unites expert-written and peer-reviewed courses, tools, and communities nationwide has been, and continues to be, a great experience.

Professors Clare Lees and Carl Stychin, Joint Acting Deans of the School of Advanced Study said:

The School of Advanced Study is excited to see the launch of RESHAPED. This platform exemplifies the "value added" to the sector for which the School is well known. RESHAPED will provide a showcase for the wide ranging expertise of the School and an invaluable resource for scholars at all career stages.
