Session Leader: Professor Sue Onslow

More and more, Early Career scholars need to increase their publication profile in peer review journals and to boost awareness of the originality of their research. Successfully placing an article, or articles, during a candidate’s PhD studies also gives researchers a jump start in the competitive academic job market when their PhD is finally completed.

This interactive online session covers preparation and submission of articles for academic journals. It will include advice on formulation of the article’s overall argument; the presentation of original research; the need for clear, concise prose and the importance of referencing; journal choice; submission, and the peer review process.

The seminar leader, Professor Sue Onslow, is currently editor of The Round Table journal, The Commonwealth Journal of International Affairs, and editorial board member of Cold War History, and The RUSI journal. She is a visiting Professor in the Dept of Political Economy, King’s College London.
