Recognizing that grassroots and experiential charismatic and Pentecostal movements occur in myriad places and times, questions arise as to how they interconnect and how the stories which arise from multiple locations can form the basis for coherent histories. The speakers – John Maiden (Age of the Spirit), Leah Payne (God Gave Rock and Roll to You) and Eric Ramirez – will present from their research the significance of the “transnational”, broadly understood, in the writing of charismatic and Pentecostal history. There will then be an extended opportunity for researchers to share how these issues arise in their own work and wider discussion of methodological challenges, opportunities and ways ahead.
