Over 70 years after Britain’s Nuclear Testing programme began, medals are now being awarded to Nuclear Test Veterans. But how do you engage the public with this little-known chapter in post-war history?

In the week leading up to Remembrance Day (on Saturday 11th November 2023), four short films about the experiences of Nuclear Test Veterans, co-produced with young people across the Home Nations, will be screened in the IHR Common Room.

Over lunch (12.00-13.00) on Thursday 9th November, the IHR Senior Fellow Virginia Crompton (Big Ideas) who led this project will host an informal conversation about the research and production process. Come along to find out more about the Remember Together programme and reflect on public history best practice.

All are welcome. You can drop in and out during the hour. Bring your own lunch.
