‘Recalibrating the Dandelion’: a Deck Poetics
Dr Simon Perril is Professor of Poetic Practice at de Montfort University. His recent poetry publications include Artilochus on the Moon (2013), Beneath (2015) and The Slip (2020).
Dr Perril will talk about, and read from, Sun Deck Set Cogitation; a poetry practice research project examining exile, Levi-Strauss, and Surrealism. Each of the seven ‘decks’ in this poetic project differently negotiates the text of a notebook entry description of a sunset the anthropologist Claude Levi-Strauss made from the deck of a ship.
