‘New’ Regionalism, Transnationalism, and the Search for Solutions
This final workshop will look to possible solutions and new initiatives that may suggest ways forward. A key focus will include ground up approaches that incorporate refugee voices and their agency/mobility.
Questions to be investigated:
- What is the role of self-reliance and resilience programming in moving away from policies that focus on containment? Can/should these programmes be aligned with domestic priorities?
- Is there a role for cross-border trading and bi-lateral agreements in shifting sedentary notions of refugeehood? Can migration be understood as solution to displacement?
- What is the role of citizenship in locating adurable solution?
