Love in Text and Image
With Alessandro Scafi (Senior Lecturer in Medieval/Renaissance Cultural History, Warburg Institute), Gavanndra Hodge, George Brocklehurst and Florence Forte (Warburg PhDs).
Love in Text and Image is an event designed to celebrate and examine forms of “Love” from past to present, organised by Florence Forte (Warburg Institute).
The aim of this workshop is to bring students, scholars, and the general public together to explore the theme of “Love” through selected textual and visual sources, with a focus on the classical tradition. This workshop will encourage an interdisciplinary approach to the topic, whilst highlighting sources within The Warburg Library and Photographic Collection. The event is both philosophical and hands-on. It will begin with a series of 10-minute “lightning talks” on Love by Warburg staff and students, after which participants will have the opportunity to make their own Greetings Card to take home, with materials and guidance provided.
