Lay Catholic Societies in Twentieth-Century Britain
Little academic research has been carried out which allows us to understand the important role played by the lay apostolate. In order to rectify this historiographical gap a collection of essays will be published in early 2025 focusing on twentieth century lay Catholic action and spiritualty through the prism of such groups and how they helped to shape the experience of the ordinary lives of Catholics during this period.
This seminar will introduce the collection, explore some of its themes using a Q and A format and conclude with a book launch and drinks function.
Please note that bookings for this event will close 24 hours in advance, to allow the convenors to distribute the meeting link.
