The Government has recently announced an independent review of disclosure and fraud offences – two issues which are considered to be detrimental to effective prosecutions of large scale fraud cases. The purpose of the seminar is to update the audience concerning the actions of Government in this space in recent years which have involved strategy papers ad the establishment of the Public Sector Fraud Authority. It is intended to have two presentations and a panel discussion with one from the lead at Thompson Reuters on Business Fraud and a speaker from the PSFA to talk about the PFSA and Covid 19 fraud. A panel discussion will discuss ideas on improving disclosure and other ideas for improving fraud prosecution such as Trial with assessors.
