This summit will bring together colleagues from across the UK to discuss the key challenges and opportunities facing the arts and humanities. In the context of the fast pace of change across the sector, and the challenging circumstances in which many institutions and departments find themselves, this summit will provide a critical forum to share ideas, tackle difficult questions, and look ahead to future strategic priorities.

The summit will be split into three sections:

  • First, we will hold an open discussion forum, offering a platform for attendees to exchange experiences and ideas concerning the pivotal issues confronting our sector.
  • This will be followed by a policy panel discussion, which will address the broader political debates surrounding the future of arts and humanities education and research.
  • Finally, we will reflect on our strategic positioning as a sector and consider possible approaches to advocating for our disciplines going forward.

This event is a precursor to a larger, annual Humanities Summit scheduled for launch next year. Your feedback on this preliminary event and suggestions for the future will be highly valued as we shape the new format.

Final programme and speakers will be confirmed closer to the time. Lunch will be provided.
