This seminar introduces and discusses a new book co-authored by the presenter with Antonio F. Canales (Universidad Complutense de Madrid) and Hsiao-Yuh Ku (National Chung Cheng University, Taiwan), Brian Simon and the Struggle for Education, published open-access by UCL Press.  More than twenty years after Simon’s death in 2002, it makes the case for a fuller understanding of the wide range of his life and career in historical perspective as a leading historian of education, activist, reformer and public intellectual.

Copies of the book will be available at a specially reduced price for those attending the launch, and refreshments will be provided.

Gary McCulloch is Brian Simon Professor of the History of Education at UCL.

All welcome- this seminar is free to attend but registration is required.
