Registration for the conference is now open.

Those who register before 2 February 2025 are eligible for 'early bird' prices. From 3 February 2025, the standard conference fees will be applicable.

The deadline to register for in-person attendance is 12 March 2025.

The deadline to register for online attendance is 26 March 2025.

The conference is being run with some online elements. Full Conference and Single Day tickets will provide in-person and online access, while Online Only tickets provide access only to the virtual portions of the event.

All presenters (except those who are presenting virtually) will need to register for the Full Conference ticket. Those presenting virtually should register for the Online Only option.

Discounted tickets are available to the following groups:

• Currently enrolled students who do not have access to funding for conference attendance.
• Those people who are working without a permanent contract or who are not affiliated with an organisation or institution and do not have access to funding for conference attendance from their organisation, grant funding, or another source. 

For attendees requiring assistance as a result of a disability or long-term health condition, we can offer a free ticket for your essential companion. Please email us directly to arrange this.

**Early bird price for any tickets booked before 3 February. 

The Organising Committee plans to award bursaries of up to £500 to support in-person attendance at the conference. The bursaries are to make the event more accessible to those who would otherwise be unable to attend, with specific attention to supporting students and those who are precariously employed. Funding can be used to pay for any expenses related to in-person attendance including, but not limited to, travel, accommodation, childcare, or anything else that would facilitate the recipient’s attendance at the event. Bursary winners will not need to pay a registration fee.

Applications will be reviewed by the Organising Committee and decisions will take into account demonstrated financial need, the applicant’s motivation for attending, and importance of ensuring a diverse group of attendees at the event.

Applicants need to be presenting at the conference in order to apply for a bursary. To be eligible for a bursary, applicants need to fall into one of the following groups:

1. Currently enrolled students who do not have access to funding for conference attendance.
2. Those people who are working without a permanent contract, who are not affiliated with an organisation or institution and do not have access to funding for conference attendance from their organisation, grant funding, or another source and those who require additional funds as a result of long-term illness or disability.

The deadline to submit an application is 5:00PM GMT on 22 January 2025. Applicants will be informed of the result of their application by 29 January 2025.

All bursary awards are made provisionally and will only be confirmed on return of a written acceptance via email and when a completed registration has been received and processed. Bursary winners will be sent a personalised registration link and do not need to pay a registration fee.

Bursary winners can submit receipts for their expenses to the Organising Committee (for example, flight reservations or hotel bookings) in advance of the conference. Payment will be by bank transfer.

The in-person portions of the conference will take place at the Senate House building on the University of London campus, conveniently located in the heart of Bloomsbury, next to the British Museum and Russell Square.

By tube

The nearest underground stations are:

• Russell Square (Piccadilly Line)
• Goodge Street (Northern Line)
• Tottenham Court Road (Central Line and Northern Line)
• Euston Square (Circle Line, Metropolitan Line and Hammersmith and City Line)
• Euston Station (Victoria Line & Northern Line)

By rail

Euston, King’s Cross and St. Pancras mainline stations are within walking distance. The other London mainline stations are a short tube or taxi journey away. St. Pancras has international connections available via Eurostar.

By bus

Closest bus stops - Tottenham Court Road or Russell Square (Numbers 7, 24, 29, 68, X68, 73, 91, 134, 168 and 188).

By plane

Senate House is accessible by public transportation from all of London's major airports - Heathrow (LHR), Gatwick (LGW), City (LCY), Luton (LTN), and Stansted (STN). 

There are a wide range of accommodation options in and around central London. The Bloomsbury and Russell Square neighbourhoods are closest to the conference venue, but other accommodation in walking distance can be found in Fitzrovia, Euston, and King's Cross. 

If you are looking for more affordable accomodation, you can look at hotels located on the Victoria or Elizabeth lines. Both lines have stops near Senate House and provide quick access in and out of central London.

• offensive communication related to age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, language, race, religion or belief, political opinion
• inappropriate use of sexual images in public spaces
• deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording
• sustained disruption of talks or other conference activities
• inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention 

Any participant engaged in unacceptable behaviour will be immediately asked to stop and removed from the conference. If you are subject to or witness harassment, intimidation, or discrimination, or have any other concerns, please contact borndigital@sas.ac.uk or speak with a conference organiser, they will be identified by badges and introductions at the beginning of the event. If you believe or see anyone is in physical danger, please notify conference organizers or Senate House security staff immediately.

Registration and attendance at the conference is conditional upon acceptance of the Code of Conduct and any breach of it will lead to immediate and final withdrawal of your registration without a refund.
