This seminar will reflect on the uses of innovative participatory research methods by historians seeking to uncover grassroots female activism in England, 1918 to the present. The research team will discuss their pilot project consisting of two workshops with members of the Soroptimist International Great Britain and Ireland (SIGBI) Tunbridge Wells, Kent, Club.  The outcomes of the project will be presented and the benefits (and drawbacks) of using participatory research methods debated.
