In this session, we will introduce you to one tool that can be used to create transcriptions of handwritten documents: Transkribus. You can use Transkribus to turn digitised documents (or even archive photos on your phone) from images into text. We will discuss the foundational principles underlying the software and do a hands-on exercise to get comfortable using it.
Attendees should create a Transkribus account before the session.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own laptop if you can. We will provide some computers for attendees to use as well.
