Sexual Violence and American Slavery

Shannon C. Eaves earned her Ph.D. in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and currently works as an Assistant Professor of African American History at the College of Charleston. She specializes in slavery and gender in the antebellum American South. She is working on a book manuscript entitled Sexual Violence and American Slavery that is under contract with UNC Press. She most recently received a 2021-2022 Postdoctoral Research Fellowship from the American Association of University to further her research.
