Across the western world universities and other cultural institutions are struggling with moral issues that controversial legacies present.  Professor Sir David Cannadine (President-elect of the British Academy) will draw on British and American examples in his discussion of these dilemmas.

Sir David’s lecture is the opening event for the IHR conference the following day (24 March 2017), 
History, Heritage and Ideology: Universities and the Commemoration of Benefactors.

The lecture is free and open to all and advanced registration is required.
