Description

This full day event is geared towards Being Human Festival organisers and others interested in public engagement in the humanities. Mixing presentations and hands on workshops, it will offer an opportunity to meet the Being Human team and other organisers involved in this year’s festival as well as organisers and community partners from previous years. You will get to meet successful event organisers, talk to them about what they have learnt, and get some top tips on organising, promoting and evaluating Being Human and other public engagement events. 

There will also be hands-on training workshops in the following areas:
 
  • Creating innovative event formats
  • Working in partnership with communities
  • Evaluation and demonstrating impact

Refreshments and lunch will be provided.

The day will conclude with a panel and ‘mini-masterclass’ geared towards working with the media. This panel will feature contributions from academic, broadcaster and Being Human director Professor Sarah Churchwell and public philosopher Nigel Warburton (Aeon, Philosophy Bites). This event is supported by Routledge Taylor Francis.
