The 46th Battle Conference on Anglo-Norman Studies will be hosted by the School of Advanced Study, University of London. It will take place at Senate House (Bloomsbury), with the Allen Brown Memorial Lecture and Reception at Lambeth Palace Library. There will also be a tour of St Bartholomew’s, Smithfield.
The speakers will be:

- Dr Chris Lewis (SAS), ‘The significance of Exon Domesday’ (The Des Seal Memorial Lecture)
- Prof. Tom Licence (UEA), ‘Richard the Lionheart’
- Prof. Amy Livingstone (Lincoln), ‘Ermengarde and her relationship with male clergy or on what texts might have influenced or guided her piety’ (The Allen Brown Memorial Lecture)
- Prof. Alma Santosuosso (Wilfrid Laurier University), ‘Abbot William of Dijon and the a-p System of Musical Notation in Medieval Normandy’
- Dr Benjamin Savill (FU-Berlin), ‘The Donation of (Pope) Constantine: Imitation, Forgery and the Death of Papyrus, 709-1205’ (The Christine Mahany Memorial Lecture)
- Prof. Tom Bisson
- And the Marjorie Chibnall Prize winner.
Fees
The cost of the conference is £110. This includes tea/coffee and lunch at Senate House, and the reception at Lambeth Palace Library. There will be opportunities to dine as a group on 20th and 21st, but delegates will be asked to settle their bills separately.
