Partners
The School is a partner of the Bloomsbury Festival, along with other local organisations including UCL and the Wellcome Trust. The Bloomsbury Festival is a high-profile, multidisciplinary arts and cultural event that takes place annually in October. The event brings together many local businesses, communities and cultural and academic organisations to celebrate this fascinating area, through a programme packed with dance, music, performance, guided walks, art, workshops, talks, literary trails, a food programme and more.
Gresham College, founded by Sir Thomas Gresham in 1597, is an independently funded educational institution based in Barnard's Inn, Holborn, in the centre of London.
The Screen Studies Group was founded in 2001 in response to the spread of film and television studies across the University of London. In 2003, the Group entered a formal partnership with the School, which has been hosting some of the Group’s activities ever since. Since this foundation, the SSG has been pursuing three initiatives (Symposia, inter-collegiate MA option sharing, PhD training). In 2003, the SSG held its first symposium, designed to create public dialogue on Screen Studies topics and stimulate debate on topics of interest to individual professors. The symposia, which began as biennial events, now take place three times a year under the auspices of the School.
