Professor Jonathan Gardner of Victoria University of Wellington awarded New Zealand-UK Link Visiting Professorship for 2011/12

The School of Advanced Study and the New Zealand-UK Link Foundation are pleased to announce that Professor Jonathan Gardner of Victoria University of Wellington has been awarded the second Link Visiting Professorship. He will take up his appointment in early October 2011 and will be based at the School.  Professor Gardner is a marine biologist with research expertise in the fields of marine protected areas, biodiversity conservation and population genetics. 

The 80th Anglo-American Conference will bring together internationally acclaimed speakers to discuss a broad range of topics on the theme ‘Health in History’

Around 400 delegates are expected at the 80th Anglo-American Conference of Historians, the annual flagship event of the Institute of Historical Research, a member institute of the University of London’s School of Advanced Study. This year’s conference, on the topic of Health in History, will be held from 29th June to 1st July 2011 and is sponsored by the Wellcome Trust and the Royal Society of Medicine.
