School of Advanced Study increases value of fellowships

Apply now for research fellowships in humanities and social sciences in 2009

The School of Advanced Study research fellowships, which have been increased in value to £7,500, provide University of London staff relief from teaching and administration for a period of dedicated research time.

The money is paid to the University of London College or Department to help with the buy-out of teaching.

There are two positions of 4 months duration each year. The first takes place during the autumn term and runs from September to December. The second, during the spring term, runs from January to April. They are open to all University staff of any grade in a permanent academic post.

Applications will be considered for research in a discipline of the humanities and social sciences relevant to any Institute of the School of Advanced Study.

Submissions are now being accepted for the period between January and April 2009. The closing date for applications is 28 April 2008.

Further information and an application pack are available from the School’s website: www.sas.ac.uk
