Remembrance Sunday brings a taste of kingship for Prince Charles

Professor Philip Murphy, director of the Institute of Commonwealth Studies (ICWS), is quoted in the Guardian article, ‘Remembrance Sunday brings taste of kingship for Prince Charles’. The story, picked up by Yahoo! UK and Ireland, includes a debate about whether Prince Charles will succeed the Queen as head of the Commonwealth and whether this will be cemented at next April’s Commonwealth heads of government summit in London with meetings at Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and St James’s Palace. ‘There may be some kind of formal agreement in April, said Professor Murphy. ‘But the Queen is so fondly regarded in the Commonwealth she probably realises it would be dangerous to hand it over to him at this point.’
