Professor Barry Smith discusses our champagne tastes on BBC Radio 5 Live

Professor Barry Smith, director of the Institute of Philosophy and co-director of the Institute's Centre for the Study of the Senses, discusses the findings from his recent research into the abilities of different drinkers – from experts to novices – to discern the flavours of champagne. He reveals that the experts are not as discerning as one might expect. The research paper, co-authored by Professor Smith, is published in the open access journal Flavour.
