In a special Sunday Feature programme for BBC Radio 3 – John Cage: Beyond Silence – Richard Bernas, a Fellow of the Institute of Musical Research, looks at the influence of composer John Cage beyond music. Richard Bernas, a conductor, pianist and Cage-collaborator, talks to contemporary artists working in a variety of media, including sound, painting, sculpture, film, theatre and performance art, about John Cage and the impact his ideas have had on their own work.

Work begins on groundbreaking digital oral history of the Commonwealth project

Work formally began this month on the Oral History of the Modern Commonwealth project at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies with the full-time appointment of Dr Sue Onslow, a leading historian of British foreign policy and the Commonwealth, as Senior Research Fellow and lead interviewer.

Dr David Starkey launches royal rededication of famous Victoria County History series to HM Queen Elizabeth II
