Maxine Molyneux elected to the Executive Council of the Latin American Studies Association

Professor Maxine Molyneux, Director of the Institute for the Study of the Americas, has been elected to the three-member Executive Council of the Latin American Studies Association for a three-year period, 2010-13. LASA is based in the United States but its membership of around 7,000 is drawn from across the world. Its upcoming conference will be held in Toronto from 6 to 9 October this year and is expected to welcome 5,000 participants. Professor Molyneux will be taking part in several panels and events and she will also promote the ISA/Palgrave and ISA in-house book series that she edits while she is there.
