Environmental Humanities Research Hub

The Environmental Humanities Research Hub at the School of Advanced Study promotes and facilitates research in the transdisciplinary field of environmental humanities.

The Environmental Humanities Research Hub (EHRH) at the School of Advanced Study (SAS) promotes and facilitates research in the transdisciplinary field of environmental humanities. It supports the work of national research centres while advancing global connections. Fostering transnational and multilingual environmental scholarship and knowledge exchange, it offers research training, acting as a catalyst for meaningful impact, knowledge dissemination, and the generation of insights that can shape policies and inspire public engagement. Its mission is to amplify the transformative potential of environmental humanities research, the function that this research fulfils in re-orienting humanities scholarship, and above all the role that it performs in addressing issues of urgent global concern.

One of the ways in which the EHRH achieves its mission is through its series of events, providing a dedicated platform for scholars and researchers to come together, share their work, and explore innovative perspectives within the field. The Hub brings together the seminars on environmental humanities that are organised in the different Institutes of SAS while also organising a cross-institutional seminar series (see Events page) that is designed to be of interest to those working in the area who wish to amplify the impact of their work by engaging with groups and individuals in related fields both within and beyond the academy.
