Ms Maral Kashgar

Maral is a PhD candidate at the University of Potsdam. Her doctoral thesis deals with the non-refoulement potential of International Humanitarian Law in the case of torture and is based on a comparison between International Humanitarian law and International Human rights Law. As the principle of non-refoulement is meanwhile well established in the latter, much can be learned from this legal area for the shaping of an International Humanitarian Law principle of non-refoulement. She has worked as a research assistant at the Human Rights Centre of the University of Potsdam.
