Ms Marina Sharpe

Marina Sharpe is a DPhil candidate in law and Trudeau Scholar at the University of Oxford. Previously, Marina worked as a lawyer in private practice and for refugee rights organisations in Uganda and the UK. Her research is on the role of the regional human rights system in refugee protection in Africa, with a focus on standards of treatment during exile. She argues that the regional human rights system has a key role to play in preventing and redressing such violations, and grapples with the complementarities and conflicts between international and regional bodies of refugee and human rights law.
