Graduate Fellowship Scheme

The Human Rights Consortium at the School of Advanced Study, University of London, is inviting applications for Graduate Fellowship Awards of up to £2,000 each for a maximum of two Doctoral students undertaking research in the human rights subject field. The Award is for a 4-month period.

The scheme is open to all advanced PhD students and/or post-doctoral researchers interested in working with academics of the School in organising, facilitating and disseminating work undertaken in the human rights fields - see lists here for experts: http://www.sas.ac.uk/577.html

The recipients of the Award will be expected to contribute to the organisation of the Human Rights Consortium Programme of Events. The recipient(s) will work with Dr Par Engstrom contributing to the organisation of particular conferences and seminars; manage the information and online content related to the events, as well as produce reports on these events and undertake a follow up exercise thereafter. They will also be expected to attend those conferences and seminars. The expected time commitment from each recipient will be one to two days per week based at the School of Advanced Study.

Candidates for the Award will be Doctoral students working in the humanities, social sciences or law in the human rights, and will have good organisational skills and excellent written English. Prior experience in the organisation of events would be welcomed.

The next deadline is 5.30 pm, Friday 15 April 2011. Interviews will be scheduled for the following week.  Appointments would be expected to start after the Easter break.

The appointment can be renewable.
