Postgraduate Open Days
A number of postgraduate open days are held each year in the School:
- The School Postgraduate Open Day is held in February
- Some of our institutes hold postgraduate open days throughout the year
- The University of London Postgraduate Open Day takes place in November
We would be delighted to welcome you to the School and encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities to meet teaching and student support staff, and current and past students of the School.
School of Advanced Study Postgraduate Open Day
The 2012 School postgraduate open day took place on Wednesday 8 February 2012, 14.30pm-19.30pm. Please contact sasopenday@sas.ac.uk to find out about future open days.
School open days offer an excellent opportunity to find out more about postgraduate study and research opportunities across the School. Prospective students are warmly invited to attend an open day and meet with teaching, supervisory and student support staff, and current and past students.

Institute Postgraduate Open Days
The Institute of Commonwealth Studies hosts an open day each year for those interested in the MA in Understanding & Securing Human Rights programme. The last open evening was held on Wednesday 22 June 2011, from 15:00-18:00.
The Institute for the Study of the Americas hosts an annual summer open day. The last open day was held on Thursday 9 June 2011 from 15:00-18:30.
University of London Postgraduate Open Evening
The University of London hosts a Postgraduate Open Evening in November each year. The 2011 University of London Postgraduate Open Evening took place on Wednesday 16 November 2011, 16:00-19:00.
The School hosts a stand at this event for visitors to find out more about our taught and research programmes and our research resources, and to meet with support and teaching staff. Professor Iwan Morgan, Director of the United States Presidency Centre at the Institute for the Study of the Americas, gave a presentation on 'What is a PhD?' at 16:30.
